The Saints and Missionaries met to decide who would take over the first place spot in the Modern Day Division. Both teams came into the game 5-1, yet the Missionaries held a half a game lead in the division standings.
Early on the Saints were on fire. They stormed out to a 7-0 lead in the first three minutes of the game. Mount had a highligth reel dunk off of an offensive rebound to give the Saints a 9-2 advantage. The Saints would then coast to a 16-6 lead to end the period.
In the second period, both teams struggled to score. Both teams ended with under 10 points. Brown, for the Saints, had a key basket after grabbing two offensive rebounds. The Saints led at the half 24-15.
The Missionaries made a run in the third quarter to justify the hype before the game. With five minutes left in the third quarter, the Saints led by 9. By the end of the third quarter that lead was cut to just four points.
The Missionaries looked to make the comeback complete as they got within one point on two occasions in the fourth period, but the Saints would rally off a 14-6 run to put away the Missionaries. Mount had a huge three point play midway through the fourth quarter to give the Saints a 39-31 advantage, the momentum, and eventually the win.
The player of the game was Josh Brown of the Saints. He had a huge night with 16 points, and a league record 16 rebounds. Teammate Adam Mount also pulled in a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Wow, what a game. I guess the saints aren't the aints in basketball as well. Maybe they will win the championship just like the NFL Saints.
Anyway, a reporter for the DBA uncovered a secret relationship between Josh Brown (Saints), Jason Macey (Sharks), and Colby Manterola (Stallions). Apparently, all three players have the same home town, they are all LDS, and played ball together when they were kids. Small world don't you think?
I forgot to mention that they are the star players for their respective teams. Pretty cool.
