The Missionaries found themselves down by eight points heading into fourth quarter (40-32). Neil Owenstot tallied up 25 points in the first three quarters, but it looked like that would not be enough to overcome the great team effort for the Angels. The Missionaries staged a miraculous comeback to get back into the game. They opened up the 4th quarter with an 8-2 run. Down three points with one last chance, Colby Quakely found Owenstot, the man of the hour, for a three pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime. In overtime, the Missionaries outscored the Angels 4-1 to get the win! This game set the stage for the top two players in the league to showcase their abilities. The preseason favorite was Neil Owenstot, and he solidified his position with his performance against Mike Makesum with 33 points! Makesum started the season as the top player putting up 27 and 28 points in previous games. Both players had a 20.4 PPG average coming into this game. Overshadowed by Owenstot's performance, Mike Makesum had a Double - Double. He went 9-11 from the free throw line, and also had a game high 10 rebounds.
